Several reasons I was disappointed: The First gentleman said “I’ll be back with you today or tomorrow on the estimate. I’ll never heard back from him at all though I left measures on the cell. On the office number they do not have the voicemail set up. The First Gentleman neglected to tell me I would be charged for the estimate. I called repeatedly over the next two days. The other gentleman told me all that was wrong and emailed me the estimate. He then charged me $150 for the estimate. This gentleman then said he wouldn’t have to charge me for another estimate since I had already paid for this estimate. I thought well that’s good because I won’t be back. I thought he might offer to deduct what he charged me for the estimate from the balance of the actual work done. He did not. As the expense in the estimate was quite high I decided to get another estimate and quite frankly I was offput by having to pay for an estimate without being told upfront there would be a charge. I went with the estimate of the other place as it was more affordable and I had had favorable dealings with that shop before. Maybe it is the norm now to charge for estimates but in 50 years of me having cars repairs this was the first time for me. I apologize if I’m not up on the times. I can’t respond to the quality of the work of the first shop because there was none.
